Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out [by God] to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation? [Of course they are!] (Heb 1:14-Amplified)
Our upcoming Bible study will explore one of Scripture’s most fascinating subjects — Angels. Today, I want to focus on something both practical and powerful. We will learn how the angels of God minister to us in our time of need. One of the tremendous benefits of salvation is access to divine protection. These are perilous times. Understanding how to trigger that protection over your home is essential. It is also crucial for your loved ones.
Angels Respond to God’s Word
One of the primary ways to trigger angelic assistance is through the spoken Word of God. Psalm 103:20 tells us that angels excel in strength and obey the voice of His word. When you boldly confess Scripture over yourself and your family, Angels listen and are moved on your behalf. Let’s talk about a common misconception right away. Angels are not the soft, chubby cherubs we see on greeting cards. They are mighty, towering beings of extraordinary power.
I have heard many believers pray an army of Angels over their loved ones. That is certainly acceptable. Jesus Himself had a legion of angels at His disposal at any given moment (Matthew 26:53). Still, here is some encouraging news — sometimes one is more than enough. In 2 Kings 19, we see God sending a single angel. The angel aided King Hezekiah during one of his most critical battles. That one angel struck down 185,000 enemy soldiers in a single night. If that doesn’t give you a revelation of angelic strength, I don’t know what will.
How Tall Are Angels?
The Bible does not offer a fixed standard for angelic height. Still, Scripture and credible testimonies give us some remarkable glimpses. Some believers have testified to seeing angels standing ten feet tall in their midst. Based on my own study of the Word, it seems that angels can manifest at whatever height they choose. They are even capable of taking on human form and dwelling among us undetected (Hebrews 13:2). I Kings 6:23-28 provides a reference point. It suggests an angel of extraordinary stature. This is a reminder that these beings far exceed our natural imagination.
Regardless of how they are, angels are assigned to help those who love and obey God. Still, remember that drifting into sin gives the enemy a foothold. When this happens, we step outside the covering that obedience provides. So beloved, if you fall — and we all do — please run to God, not away from Him. Many sincere Christians feel so ashamed after a mistake that they hide from His presence. Please don’t do that to yourself. He loves you deeply and is ready to restore you the moment you come to Him. Simply confess it, accept His grace, and put your hand back on the plow.
We all have struggles and weaknesses — that is part of the human experience. But that does not mean we are destined to stay where we are. Nothing is impossible with God, and as long as we are pressing toward growth, He extends grace for the journey. We don’t need to be perfect, but we do need to stay committed. A lifestyle of habitual sin and disobedience leaves us exposed, so let’s stay close to Him.
Closing Thoughts
Now more than ever, we need to be aware of the angelic protection surrounding us. Angels are here and ready to serve. They can be giants of extraordinary height. They also quietly blend in as fellow humans. You will not always see them, but that does not mean they are not working on your behalf.
I personally activate my angels to watch over me and my family, and I have observed the results firsthand. You can even have some faith-filled fun with this. When I drive through a heavily congested area, I release my angels to make a way. I have seen traffic clear in remarkable ways. I once did this while driving a work van with a co-worker. She was genuinely amazed at how quickly things shifted. It does not happen instantly at first, so be patient and stay consistent. The key is persistence in the Word and in faith, and you will see results.
Your angels are waiting. Activate them today.
Prayer–Father, thank you for teaching me about angels. I thank you for their protection. Holy Spirit, teach me how to activate my angels. Thank you that they listen to your word. I declare that your angels are watching over me and my family today. I put you in remembrance of your word. Your word says that you will send your angels to protect me. I stand on your word and declare divine protection in Jesus’ name-Amen!
