And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.(Mark 3:25)
Is your house divided? I am not talking about the Government, city or family, but your body. As a Christian, your body is God’s house. (Hebrews 3:6) When you are walking in God’s obedience and knowing who you are in Christ, you become his house. The word says that you were brought with a price. That price was the blood of Christ.
As glorious as Salvation in Christ is, we have to work it out concerning our soul (mind, will and emotions) and body. Remember in our past studies, we, clearly, defined that when you confess Jesus as your Savior, your spirit is saved. You are a citizen of the kingdom of God, but your mind (soul) and flesh (body) needs to be conformed and in agreement with the Spirit of God. One way that scripture defines this is working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Notice how this is defined in the Complete Jewish Bible—
So, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed when I was with you, it is even more important that you obey now when I am away from you: keep working out your deliverance with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12)
The Salvation that we are talking about is deliverance. Deliverance is defined as many things, but I want to focus on the deliverance from a carnal mindset. A carnal mind is enmity against the Lord, that is why scripture says that we have the mind of Christ.(I Cor 2:16) Why? Because if we can take God’s promise of the mind of Christ and apply it to our life, we can transform the soul. In return, that will allow us to understand God’s will better and help us to dominate our flesh.
How do we take the mind of Christ? Through confessing God’s word. Confession brings forth possession. The word of God says…He shall have what he says. (Mark 11:23, 2 Cor 4:13) When you take the mind of Christ, you will enter into a deeper realm of the Spirit where the impossible becomes possible. I dare you to take the mind of Christ today and see how it will transform you in the long run.
Prayer—Thank you, Lord, for speaking to me. I declare that I have the mind of Christ. I declare that I have the yoke-breaking, burden removing power residing in me. I command all my thoughts, will and emotions to be aligned with your word. I have the mind of Christ and I hear your voice. Thank you for showing me your perfect will for my life today. In Jesus name. Amen.
