The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.(Deuteronomy 29:29)
1. Friendship Speaks of Identity
In Biblical times, the word friend implied a covenant partner. God is a covenant-keeping God, and we are His covenant people.
Before bringing judgment on Sodom, God said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing?” (Genesis 18:17). Because of their intimate, one-on-one relationship, God didn’t just share immediate plans with Abraham; He revealed the ultimate future. God personally preached the Gospel to him, allowing Abraham to see ahead to the coming sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:8). When you walk in friendship with God, He shares His heart with you.
2. The Power of Praying in Tongues
There are times when we all hit a wall and simply don’t know what to do. Romans 8:26 speaks directly to this:
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Rom 8:26)
When you run out of human answers, that is the exact moment to lean into your prayer language. As you practice and develop this gift, the Holy Spirit will help you pray through to a breakthrough.
I experienced the reality of this principle a couple of years ago. My son borrowed my 2014 Nissan Altima and accidentally lost the keys. Naturally, I was concerned. I prayed, confessed the Word, and even bound the enemy—but nothing happened. Resigned to the situation, I was getting ready to call the dealership and shell out $300 for a replacement.
My wife stopped me and told me to wait. In that moment of pause, I began to pray in the Spirit. As I did, I heard a clear prompting in my inner being: “Release your angel.” I spoke those words in faith, and the very next day, the keys were found!
Praying in tongues unravels the mysteries of life and unlocks the breakthroughs you desperately need. When you don’t have the words, let the Spirit speak for you.
More to come. God bless you!
