Suffering For Christ.

But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ‘s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. ( I Peter 4:13)

What comes to mind when you hear the phrase-“Suffering for Christ?” In my younger years, I struggled with Asthma. Many well-meaning Christians encouraged me, saying I was suffering for the Lord. Over time, I accepted that until God opened my eyes to the truth. I did not have to suffer for Christ in my sicknesses because Jesus took it to the cross. (Isa 53:5)

Another point the Spirit called to my attention is that Christ did not suffer sickness on Earth. We tend to confuse afflictions with Christ’s sufferings. Let’s take a good look at what is implied in the above verse. The writer of I Peter 4:13 shows us another aspect of suffering. Let’s think about what kind of sufferings Jesus went thru.

Persecution And The Flesh.

Jesus went thru persecution. His family called him crazy. When you live for Christ, you will suffer persecution, and the enemy will use those you love. Another point to consider is that he had to deal with the flesh. Rom 8:3 says that Christ came in the form of sinful flesh. Jesus had to deal with many temptations.

I get frustrated when people think that all you have to do is stop sinning. Friends, the reason why we struggle against sin is because there is pleasure attached to it. Sinful pleasure is an emotion that will blind us and get us out of the path of righteousness.

Breaking out of sinful pleasures involves suffering. When we think of those words, we form an image in our minds of the big sins (Murder, Adultery, etc.), but they can be insignificant daily distractions in life. Let’s face it, life is hard enough, and we need some leisure time. I like to see some old-time slap-stick comedy, but when that is robbing me of spending time with my Lord -that is a problem.

Change your Pleasure.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand  there are pleasures for evermore. ( Ps 16:11)

We got to be careful with worldly and sinful pleasures. It can take you away from the love of God. Did you know that you can change your pleasure? You can enter a world that will addict you to serving Christ!

Determine to focus your thoughts on the word. Start to spend time with the Holy Spirit. Ask him to give you a holy addiction to serving God. God can change your sinful pleasures and provide you with something better. He guarantees Heavenly pleasures that are out of this world.

Understanding The Trinity And How It Works.

Photo by David Dibert on Pexels.com

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Gen 1:26)

Have you ever tried to understand the Trinity? It can be a challenging task. In this Bible study, we will tackle why it is vital to believe in the Trinity and how it works. This study is essential for our spiritual growth and will help us in our prayer life.

Teamwork.

We have heard the following quotes–Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit-Three persons in one! Others have reasoned that if it is Three persons, it is Three Gods. That is a gross error. The Word God is compared to the word Teams. There are many members, but one team.

Each member of the Trinity has its own personality and characteristics. In fact, personality is derived from the Word person. These Three persons are working together to achieve their divine purpose. A close look at Gen 1:26 reveals the following statement-“And God said, Let us make man in our image.”

Teamwork is the key to understanding the creation of man. The Father, Holy Spirit, and the Word (Jesus) were at work. There was no division but unity. Unity and Teamwork were essential in creating man. Man was made in the image of God. God is a Spirit, and Man is a spirit. (Prov 20:27, John 4:24)

Understanding The Threefold Nature Of Man.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and Soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Thess 5:23)

Understanding Teamwork begins with us. (I Thess 5:23) Just as God is defined in Three parts, so is man-Spirit, Soul, and Body. At the time of Salvation, our spirit is united with the Spirit of God, but the Soul and Body must align with the Word. This is where mind renewal begins.

The Soul is comprised of three things–

1-Mind

2-Will

3-Desires

We tend to be emotional in life. Our mind is like computer software. Our mental software needs to be updated, and that is where the mind of Christ comes in. The Word Christ means the yoke-breaking, burden-removing power of God. (Isa 10:27)

When we take the mind of Christ, our thinking capacity will increase. Adam had a hundred percent of his mind working before the fall. On average, we use just a low percentage of our brain, although some have used higher thinking capacities. An example can be found in the invention of a machine that changes air into water.

An old army veteran discovered a way to transform air into water. He shared his invention with lower-income people in Flint, Michigan, and Puerto Rico, giving them free water. Brethren, we can offer answers to the problems of this world because we have a genius living inside of us-The Holy Spirit! On this day, decide to get your Soul in order.

Learn to work as a team with God. Remember, you are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and a house divided will not stand. Believe it or not, you have the answers to life’s problems because the Holy Spirit lives inside you. Creative ideas and solutions are waiting to be released from inside your spirit. Learn to flow with God and experience the Mind of Christ. God bless!

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for speaking to me. Thank you for showing me the importance of the Trinity through Teamwork. Lord, help me align my Soul and body with the Word. I declare that I have the mind of Christ, and creative ideas and wisdom will come out of my spirit. In Jesus name-Amen!

Lessons from Aaron’s Rod

And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds. (Numbers 17:8) (1)

Today we will look at what we can learn from Aaron’s Rod. Looking at the picture above, you may ask what Almonds have to do with this lesson. Plenty! A look at Numbers 17 will show us what God has in mind for us today. Let’s look at some highlights-

1- Rod symbolizes strength, correction, and guidance. Psalms 23:4 mentions the word Rod along with Staff. A Rod was used to correct and guide the sheep gently. It represents authority.

2-As you read Numbers 17, each tribe had a leader represented by a rod. There was much disagreement concerning the priesthood that God had raised thru Aaron. The tribes of Israel were under the covering of Aaron. This incident shows us that all ministries need to have a covering.

God directed Moses to tell each tribe and Aaron to give him their rods with their names on them. Moses was going with the rods to enter into the tent of the Lord’s presence and present it in front of the covenant box. God had told Moses that the rod of the chosen one would sprout. (Number 17:5)

3- God performed a miracle confirming the election of Aaron. His rod blossomed and brought forth almonds ending all disputes. What lessons can we learn from this?

The first thing to observe is how God manifests his power with signs and wonders. These rods were wood taken from a tree. It had no life separated from the tree. The fact that life was manifested in the form of almonds was a miracle. It represents death and resurrection. In some Middle Eastern countries, the Almond trees wake from their winter sleep and give birth forth Almonds. Almonds represent the Lord Jesus Christ.

In these last days, pray for your Pastors and Leaders. Make sure they are following the Lord and not deviating from Biblical teachings. Receive correction from your leaders and be willing to allow the Lord to guide you with your decisions through the Holy Spirit. He knows what is best for you. God bless.

God’s Magic Marker -Greg Plants (Guest Blogger)

Photo by Nataliya Vaitkevich on Pexels.com

I was born in 1947 and accepted Christ as my savior in about 1961, BUT on December 16, 1984 (at 36 years old), Christ became the LORD of my life. (Thank you, Alex and Linda!). On that day, in my mind’s eye, I vividly recall the image of a huge dry-erase board with all of my ugly past written on it. Then I saw a giant hand use an eraser to wipe all of that “past” off that board, and it was now a blank slate. (Those who don’t know what a slate board is will have to ask their grandparents, they’ll “school” you on it!)

That same hand gave me a magic marker pen and said, “Now, write on here your new future”! Wow! What a privilege! I have God’s permission to rewrite my future completely. I had never experienced anything like this before, but my spirit immediately recognized the opportunity God was giving me.

What a relief to have visualized that all of my past mistakes, flaws, and insecurities had been eradicated from God’s memory of me. (Praise God!) I certainly needed that change and that relief!! In the 39 years since God gave me my “clean board,” I have written many new things.

Having The Proper Mindset.

Those things have reshaped my future and even my present life, but I have noticed a couple of strange occurrences. (I think God’s magic marker pen may be broken). On my new dry-erase board, I tried to write down “I don’t feel loved!” God’s magic marker wrote, “I love you with everlasting love.” I tried to write down “I feel lonely!” God’s magic marker wrote, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Strange, but good!! I tried to erase God’s words and rewrite my old thoughts but discovered that God’s magic marker uses permanent ink. I thought that was stupid, and God’s pen wrote: “You have the mind of Christ!”. Eventually, I realized that trying to write down old thoughts about me was not going to be allowed on God’s new dry-erase board.

Initially, I thought God’s magic marker pen was flawed because every time I tried to write down an “old thought,” it always came up as one of God’s new thoughts about me. (DUH, I finally caught on!!). But wait, there’s more!!!! Another strange occurrence was that now and then, I would look at my dry-erase board, and someone had written, in red ink, old condemning reminders of my past. I knew I hadn’t written them, and God reminded me, “Use your eraser!”.

The Power Of 2 Corinthians 5:17

This red ink was NOT permanent, and each time I erased these old condemning “recall statements,” God’s magic marker wrote “2 Corinthians 5:17” in its place. Every time I erased it, but then “2 Corinthians 5:17” showed up on my board! (2 Corinthians 5:17- Therefore, If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all things are become new KJV).

As I have become more knowledgeable in God’s Word and embraced a more intimate relationship with Christ as my Lord AND Savior, there are fewer and fewer red markings on my board. God’s magic marker pen seems to automatically write His thoughts over my thoughts, even before I think them. My life with God’s magic marker pen has become so much fuller since I now need to read what God’s thoughts are toward me from my board. He even gives me new thoughts about my future and His hopes for me, as in Jeremiah 29:11. (Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope- KJV).

An invitation.

God has a dry-erase board and magic marker pen waiting just for you. It’s waiting for you to use! Pray Romans 10:9-10 and then visualize your new “blank” dry-erase board, eraser, and pen. (Romans 10: 9-10 If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made until salvation. -KJV).

Thank you, God, for the vivid illustration of Your dry-erase board in our relationship. Please give “everyone” the vividness of their very own blank “dry erase” board and God’s magic marker. What’s My Name?

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (Phil 2:9)

I know it is an unusual title, but I wrote it to make a point. Let me point out an interesting analogy that will drive home my point. During the mid-’60s and ’70s, a Heavyweight champion was known to the Boxing world as Muhammad Ali. His original name was Cassius Clay.

When the press questioned him about that name change, he responded that Cassius Clay was a slave name and wanted nothing to do with that name. Taking wind of that name change and trying to make some publicity, Ali’s foes would try him by calling him Cassius Clay. I remember when he fought Ernie Terrell, who refused to call him by his name. Ali would unleash a series of blows to punish his rival and ask him- What’s my name?

Take hold of your Identity.

As we study the Bible, there were times when God would change the names of his chosen ones. Names mean a lot, and while I am not telling anyone to change your name (unless God tells you to), I want you to know that when you got Born-Again, God gave you a new name. The name of Jesus!

You became engrafted in the Body of Christ when you became Born-Again. A way to better understand this is by looking at the principle of marriage. When a man marries a woman, she takes her husband’s name as her own. The Body is the bride of Christ and has all the benefits of the name of Jesus. You are in covenant with Jesus!

We live in an interesting time. The world is trying to evangelize us into their mode of thinking. Right is wrong, and wrong is right. They are coming after our children. There is mass confusion over gender Identity. There is an answer. We need to be rooted in our Identity in Christ so that God can use us in this day and time.

It’s time to take hold of our Identity. As we seek God to seal our Identity thru Christ, we can discover our true calling. God will lead and teach us how to win souls. There is a hungry world out there searching for Identity. We can reach them and show them their true Identity in Christ Jesus.

In these last days, we are going to see signs and wonders. Modern-day Elijahs and Moses will rise to the occasion. The world would see a mighty demonstration of God’s power. These are going to be exciting times. So, please click on the link below for our podcast of the day. It will encourage and motivate you. God bless.

Dealing With Your Mountain.

Photo by Trace Hudson on Pexels.com

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:23)

Your Mountain needs to hear your voice!

Are you facing a mountain? You are not alone. Many mountains stand in the way of progress and answered prayers. Our God has a system for dealing with our obstacles. Many times, believers in the body want God to remove those hindrances supernaturally. Our Lord can and has supernaturally intervened in removing our mountains, but there comes a time when the mountain won’t move, no matter how many times you pray.

The sad state of affairs is that many will give up and say it is not God’s will. They reason that maybe the Lord is trying to teach them something, but a quick look at the word will help us to understand the key to answered prayer. It all sums down to one thing–There is a miracle in your mouth.

You got to speak to your mountain according to Mark 11:23. Your mountain needs to hear your voice. If you don’t use your voice, it will not move. The first step is to use your mouth. Stand on your God-given authority in Christ!

Receive your answer!

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:24)

The next step in removing your mountain is to receive the answer. You got to see yourself with the end result in the Spirit. Avoid praying about the same problem time after time. Take hold of your thoughts and give God thanks for hearing your prayers. Remember Mark 11:24- Believe that you receive, and you shall have them. It starts in the Spirit realm.

Many battles are won or lost in the Spirit realm. It is time to use your God-given authority and bind those negative thoughts. Make your prayers a focus of praise. Start to sing unto the Lord-the answer is on its way.

How is your Love life?

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. (Mark 11:25)

Finally, check your love walk. Are you hurt? Then, it’s time to let the Lord heal that wounded heart and damaged emotions. If you continue to stay in that condition, you will wind up developing a root of bitterness. This, in itself, can be a hindrance to your breakthrough.

If you are angry, don’t stay angry. Do your best to get over that anger. If you are being persecuted, rejoice. Don’t get angry at those who persecute you. Your battle is not with flesh and blood.

Pray for those who offend you. Learn to rejoice in your trials, testings, and persecutions. As you practice doing this, you will see that mountain move. Please click on our podcast link below for more teachings about dealing with the mountains of life.

You Decide!

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.(Romans 12:2)

I want to call your attention to these words listed in Romans 12: 2, which says the perfect will of God. In this study, we will find two types of will of God–The Perfect and Permissive will of God. The Hebrew word for Perfect is “Teleios, ” meaning Mature, Finished and Complete. God wants his children to grow to maturity and be complete in him.

As we study the word, we will see that Our Lord has a permissive will. Our God is merciful, gracious, and very longsuffering with us. We must find his perfect will for our lives. Not doing so can lead to a world full of problems, affect our families, and even cost our lives.

Moses liked to argue with God.

Have you ever met someone who liked a good argument? A person who wasn’t happy until he made someone mad? I know some in my family who are like that. The good news is that God can turn that shortcoming into a positive one. If you read the accounts of Moses, he made his arguments with the Lord concerning Israel, which helped that nation in the long run.

In studying the permissive will of God, we see that Moses got into an argument with the Lord. First, he made the excuse that he couldn’t speak well. Afterward, on the second argument with God, Moses said to send someone else. (Exodus 4) If you think about this, he might have been too comfortable with his family in the desert. Remember, he fell in love with his wife and raised a family in that area.

Think about this, God gave Moses prophetic insights on his calling. (Exodus 3) He told him he would be with him, but he resisted change. Moses had found some relief in his environment. Life was good in the desert. Many times, we can get comfortable with bondage and oppression. God wanted to send him back to where he came from.

The Lord’s purpose was to bring him into a land of Milk and Honey. A place in which he and his people could enjoy the blessings of Freedom and Deliverance. Sometimes, we fail to see the whole picture and miss out on our blessings. God, finally got angry at Moses. We see his reluctance at reaching an agreement with Moses. (Exodus 4:14-16) Aaron, his brother, would be his spokesman.

Staying in God’s Permissive will

Moses got comfortable staying in his present position without ascending into God’s perfect will. He was happy using his brother Aaron as his spokesman. In Exodus 32:1, the people focused on Aaron instead of waiting on Moses. Staying in the Lord’s permissive will caused an incident that resulted in significant loss of life and tragedy. (Exodus 32:26-38) Friends, it pays to stay in God’s perfect will.

We can look at many other situations concerning this topic. If you want to have further study on this subject, please click on the following links below and be blessed. Thank you for reading my post, and God bless you.

Are you a God?

And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet (Exodus 7:1)

As we look at Exodus 7:1, there is no doubt that God called Moses a god, but studying the word further will help us understand what God meant. Notice you will see the word god with a little “g.” Please pay special attention to it because it is significant. Next, as we search through the Hebrew meaning, it is derived from the word Elohim.

One of its meanings is a person who is characterized by greatness or power. In other words, in the case of Moses, he had the delegated power of God. It was not referring to him being a God! Clarity is vital to understanding the intent of God.

I have seen preachers leading people in prayer, confessing that they are their own God. This erroneous way of prayer is contrary to the word of the Lord. Another example is when Jesus walked on the Earth performing signs and wonders. This series of incidents enraged the religious leaders because he was leading many people to the true worship of God. This particular verse shows how angered they were-

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.  Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? (John 10:33-34)

Notice how Jesus responded. He quoted Ps 82:6 against them. Jesus said that they were gods, which means delegated authority. He said that the religious leaders should have been performing signs and wonders. They had a covenant of healing. (Exo 15:26)

Mixture had crept in. Politics, error, and religious traditions had crept in and left them void of power. As we read in the rest of Ps 82:6, Jesus gave them a chance to go higher-A higher dimension than religious tradition! They were given an opportunity to become children of the most high.

Please take some time and listen to our podcast today and walk in a deeper dimension with the Lord. Don’t allow error and heresy to deceive you into thinking you are God. There is one sovereign God worthy to be worshipped, and we are his bride. As his bride, we have a power of attorney (delegated authority) to bring his power to a lost and dying world and make a difference. God bless.

The Friendly Ghost.

The Friendly Ghost?

Greetings. For those who know me well, I am a kid at heart. I like reading classic comic books and watching cartoon series. Recently, God had me search for Casper-the friendly ghost. As I looked at my search engine results, I found an article showing how that cartoon originated. It has fascinating parallels with the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

As a child, I enjoyed looking at the old Casper cartoons. In analyzing the Casper cartoons, I never wondered about his previous life. If he is a ghost, he must have existed in a body. I discovered some details about his previous earthly life as I read that article. His original name was Casper McFadden, and he died from pneumonia when he was 12. The cold weather was a factor due to his playing with his sled for a long time.

After dying, the young lad came back in a ghostly form. He was a friendly ghost and wanted to make friends. This poor soul did not know that people, except for the children, would look at him and get scared silly. In the first episode, he was looked down upon by his fellow ghosts because he did not participate in scaring people and haunting houses. Separating himself from his family, He made friends with some children he encountered, and they brought him home to Mama. When they introduced him to Mama, she got so scared that she got under the bed with her children.

During this commotion, a knock came on the door. It was a Bill Collector with a foreclosure notice. Casper opened the door, and when the collector looked at him, he got scared and fled. Upon seeing this, the mother realized Casper did not mean any harm. Impressed with her deliverance from that Bill Collector, she adopted him as part of the family.

The Holy Spirit Wants To Be Our Friend.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (1 Cor 2:13)

Upon looking at this, it gave me a launching pad for my message. All Christians know that the only friendly ghost is the Holy Spirit. Just as the other ghosts in the Casper cartoons were scaring people, the Holy Spirit does the opposite. He is our friend and wants to deliver us from fear. As Casper delivered the poor lady from a bill collector and foreclosure notice, the Holy Spirit will do the same for you. He is the genius that lives inside of you.

Classic cartoons are great, but they have subtle messages. In the case of Casper, there are no ghosts from our departed ones roaming the area. The Bible says that it is appointed unto man to die once, and after this, the judgment. When our loved ones die, they either go to heaven or hell.

If you see your loved ones return from the dead, it is a familiar spirit. (Lev 19:31) Don’t entertain nor talk to it because it is a portal for other demonic spirits to oppress you. In this age and time, we need to be alert. Satan is out to deceive us. Let’s be wise to close down any loopholes. Below, I have enclosed a link for the Casper fans. God bless.

Prayer for Salvation

Jesus wants to be your friend. Tomorrow is not promised, especially if you are not saved. God says that now is the day of Salvation. (2 Cor 6:2) Start a new beginning and pray this prayer now-

Dear Lord, I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sins. Come into my heart and make me a new creation. Your death, burial, and resurrection have now become mine. I accept you as Lord. Are You An Agent Of Shield?

Photo by Juergen Striewski on Pexels.com

Are you an agent of Shield? That’s the thought I want to share with you. I grew up during the ’60s, and as a child, I was intrigued by the many Spy shows and Comic books that dealt with Spy agents. TV shows about Spies were top-rated. Series like Mission Impossible and The Man From UNCLE were my favorites. James Bond movies were exciting, showing the latest gadgets.

One Comic book I always remember was Nick Fury, Agent of Shield. Nick Fury was part of an Elite Special Forces army during World War II. He commanded a group of eight soldiers and trained them to be Commandos. His Unit was called Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos. They would be a thorn in the side of Hitler and the German Army.

Upon Fury’s discharge from the Army, he got recruited to form a unique Spy agency called Shield. This time, he would be known as Colonel Nick Fury-Agent of Shield. His mission was to protect the USA from all enemies. (Domestic and International) What I liked about the comic was its artwork and the fancy gadgets they used. (Comic book available thru Amazon. See link below) (1)

You Are Called To Be An Agent Of Shield

After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. (Gen 15:1)

Just as the Government called Sgt Fury into greater service to form a fighting machine unit named Shield, the Lord calls you to be his agent. You are a fighting machine in the Spirit with a Shield second to none–The Lord. That Shield is greater than the one which Captain America uses. Think about this for a second. Sgt Fury spent years in Warfare and Training, now, he was called into a greater task.

During the Iraq War, The US was on an initial stage known as Desert Shield. It was a time of training, being alert, and studying the enemy. The last stage was Desert Storm, where it was no holds barred, attack, and take no prisoners. We are supposed to do the same.

God trains us for a season for our Desert Shield. Then, he releases us to cause serious damage to the enemy. (Desert Storm) Acts 17:6 shows us that the disciples turned the world Upside Down. Will God use you to do the same? Let’s be an agent of Shield and cause the devil a headache. God bless.

Prayer to accept Jesus

The Lord is recruiting Agents of Shield. Be a part of God’s Elite Force. Will you accept the challenge? If so, pray this prayer-

Dear Lord, I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sins. Come into my heart and make me a new creation. Your death, burial, and resurrection have now become mine. I accept you as Lord. I believe God has raised you from the dead, and I am saved! Thank you, Jesus, for saving me. I am born again and will serve you for the rest of my life!
