Are You An Agent Of Shield?

Photo by Juergen Striewski on Pexels.com

Are you an agent of Shield? That’s the thought I want to share with you. I grew up during the ’60s, and as a child, I was intrigued by the many Spy shows and Comic books that dealt with Spy agents. TV shows about Spies were top-rated. Series like Mission Impossible and The Man From UNCLE were my favorites. James Bond movies were exciting, showing the latest gadgets.

One Comic book I always remember was Nick Fury, Agent of Shield. Nick Fury was part of an Elite Special Forces army during World War II. He commanded a group of eight soldiers and trained them to be Commandos. His Unit was called Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos. They would be a thorn in the side of Hitler and the German Army.

Upon Fury’s discharge from the Army, he got recruited to form a unique Spy agency called Shield. This time, he would be known as Colonel Nick Fury-Agent of Shield. His mission was to protect the USA from all enemies. (Domestic and International) What I liked about the comic was its artwork and the fancy gadgets they used. (Comic book available thru Amazon. See link below) (1)

You Are Called To Be An Agent Of Shield

After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. (Gen 15:1)

Just as the Government called Sgt Fury into greater service to form a fighting machine unit named Shield, the Lord calls you to be his agent. You are a fighting machine in the Spirit with a Shield second to none–The Lord. That Shield is greater than the one which Captain America uses. Think about this for a second. Sgt Fury spent years in Warfare and Training, now, he was called into a greater task.

During the Iraq War, The US was on an initial stage known as Desert Shield. It was a time of training, being alert, and studying the enemy. The last stage was Desert Storm, where it was no holds barred, attack, and take no prisoners. We are supposed to do the same.

God trains us for a season for our Desert Shield. Then, he releases us to cause serious damage to the enemy. (Desert Storm) Acts 17:6 shows us that the disciples turned the world Upside Down. Will God use you to do the same? Let’s be an agent of Shield and cause the devil a headache. God bless.

It’s Time To Take Out Your Pistol!

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. (Heb 4:2)

Are you ready to arm yourself against Unbelief? I am! First, we got a few words to define in this verse. As we carefully look at the above verse, we will see how the Word will come alive and minister to us. Let’s look at four interesting words–

1- Word–The Greek word is defined as “Logos.” It is sayings and thoughts that come from God. It is defined as the written word.

2- Profit–The Greek word is defined as “Opheleo” (O-fel-eh-o) One of its definitions is investment. We need to take time in our schedule and invest in meditating on the word. (Joshua 1:8) Notice in the above verse that the word did not yield an increase in their investment. The Jews had a mental assent of the Lord’s promise of entering their promised land but did not allow God’s word to take root in their hearts.

2- Mixed—The Greek word “Sugkerannumi” (Soong-ker-an-noo-mee) speaks of mixture and unity. Be careful about what you think, hear, or speak. Do not allow worries, cares, or anxieties to rob you of God’s blessings.

4- Faith–The Greek word is “Pistus!”–It is similar to the word Pistol. It involves a deep conviction of truth. Fidelity. It gives us an understanding of the character of God and our trust in him.

As we conclude on these four major points, we see the following. The importance of investing some time in confessing God’s promises. Next, do not read the word as you would read a newspaper but speak out his promises for your life. Complaining, grumbling, and unbelief shouldn’t have a place in our lives. It can have serious consequences for our lives and finally, the word trust is important.

Trusting in God’s word will give us the boldness to stand and fight the good fight of faith. As we do this, our words will be like a pistol shooting at the areas of the flesh, sickness, and other obstacles. Doing this will allow us to possess the land and enjoy God’s best for our lives. Please take some time to listen to today’s podcast for an in-depth study of this subject matter. God bless!

Yokes—A Study Guide.

Photo by Mehmet Turgut Kirkgoz on Pexels.com

And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. (Isa 10:27)

I) Define Yoke and it’s use–

  • A Yoke is according to Merriam Webster’ ‘s dictionary as a wooden bar or frame by which two Oxen are joined by the head or neck. It was an instrument used to plow the field. A Yoke according to the word symbolizes servitude, slavery or fellowship.
  • There are two main evil Yokes–The Yoke of wood and of Iron. Wood symbolizes the flesh and Iron slavery (Demonic Oppression) The iron Yoke was used with prisoners of wars. They would have an iron Yoke around their necks.
  • A Yoke can be defined spiritually as sickness, poverty and oppression. One of the ways an evil Yoke can be destroyed is thru Fasting. ( Isa 58:6)
  • Christ set us free from all evil Yokes. The word Christ means Yoke breaking, burden removing power of God. (Isa 10:27) Knowing your identity in Christ is the first step in breaking evil Yokes in your life.
  • A Yoke can be a good thing. Christ invites us to put on his Yoke. (Matt 11:28-30) How are we Yoked with Christ? The word says that we have the mind of Christ. (I Cor 2:16) By confessing and hiding his word in our hearts, we learn to think like Christ.

II) Examples of Wooden and Iron Yokes—

  1. Yokes were used in Jeremiah 27 and 28. God led Jeremiah to make a wooden yoke as a symbol for the people of Judah to surrender to King Nebuchadnezzar. He wanted to show mercy to Judah, but a false prophet broke Jeremiah’s Yoke of wood. He Prophesied lies and in return God brought judgment. The false Prophet died and Israel was going to get a more severe judgment with a Yoke of Iron.
  2. King Saul had a Yoke of Wood. His flesh got the best of him. He hardened his heart many times, until an evil sprit came upon him. This got him into a Yoke of Iron. (I Sam 16:14)
  3. Another example is Judas. He was bound with a yoke of the flesh. He did not heed Jesus’s call to repent. At the communion table, Satan, himself entered into him and he went the point of no return. (John 13:27)

Summary—There is one more example, but I want to encourage you to click on my podcast links below for more teachings on the different types of Yokes. God bless.

Weekend Recap (May 28th-June 3rd)

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (I Cor. 15:58)

Greetings. I want to share some thoughts in our Weekend Recap. A lot has been happening this past week. Our ministry is expanding. Recently, we signed up with the Rumble website. It is a website similar to Facebook, but better. (In my opinion) It allows an open forum of discussion without no censure of speech or idiotic fact-finding.

The best part is that we can download our ministry videos and get supported by their ads. This medium means that if enough people watch us, it will create money to help keep us through ads. We already have a similar method through our Podcasting programs. We are not seeing significant gains now but are hopeful for the future.

Some of you have sown some seeds in our ministry. We thank God for you, and your labor of love is not in vain. Others have sown prayers, and we have seen some significant breakthroughs. Not everyone can contribute money, but you can give us some exposure. Consider sharing through Family, Friends, and Social Media.

God has opened a door for us to minister in Russia through Social Media. I have used Google Translate to communicate with them and shared some of our videos. Please pray for a massive harvest in that area. It’s not the first time that we have ministered to Russia. We have another blog that has traveled to Russia and other places. There is a great hunger for the Lord in that area. Pray for God to move in these end times.

Enclosed you will see a link to our past podcast and video. (Thursday and Friday) We pray that they will minister to you. Keep our ministry in prayer, and let’s believe God for souls. God bless.

The Unarmed Soldier

Greg Plants–Guest blogger

An unarmed soldier left his home to serve in a foreign land.
To win liberty for all and bring the tired, huddled masses home. To set the captives free. His love was what defeated the strongest foe.
His dedication to us required His ultimate sacrifice, which He dutifully gave for all.

Today we give remembrance and thanks to the Unarmed Soldier, who bought us the liberty we often take for granted. Who loved us so much that He gave up himself in living service to purchase our eternal liberty.
Today I give thankful remembrance to the Unarmed Soldier
that gave His life for me. I vow to reflect gratefully
on the peace and, liberty that His service purchased for all.

This Unarmed Soldier is not unknown but openly known to all.
He lovingly asks us to enlist in sharing with captive,
oppressed, hell-bound souls the liberty that He bought.
Love for the captive, oppressed, and hopeless
compelled the Unarmed Soldier to leave all He loved.
To go where he was not received. To be unappreciated,
mocked, and ridiculed. To war against an enemy, we could not defeat
and win eternal liberty that can only be awarded
through a dedicated relationship with Him.

Today I give thankful remembrance to the Unarmed Soldier. He gave His life for me, and I vow to reflect gratefully on the peace and liberty His service purchased for all. Many experience the benefits of being in His service, but very few have attained His ultimate sacrifice. Have we faithfully given dedicated service, or are we only serving our time?

Now let my life reflect that His death was not in vain, that His love bought my liberty so I can serve others, too. Unarmed soldiers are what we are. Armed with power, and remembrance, of the Unarmed Soldier. Who bought peace, love, and liberty for all. Today I give thankful remembrance to the Unarmed Soldier that gave His life for me. I vow to reflect gratefully on the peace and liberty His faithful service purchased for all.
Thank you, Unarmed Soldier, for leaving home for me!!

Freedom Isn’t Free!

The freedom we live to come and go, to buy and sell. To be who we are comes at a price because freedom isn’t free! All that is valuable, precious, and good was bought with a price from one who stood because freedom isn’t free!

To escape bondage, tyranny, and fear. Our freedom’s price was paid by someone so dear. A price willingly paid for others to live free. Was a reward to the rescued because freedom isn’t free!

Will we so easily forget, diminish, discard, or take for granted? The ones who were scarred to make freedom available? To provide a peaceful life? Let us always remember with heartfelt reverence those who gave to assure our pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness because freedom isn’t free!

Our military willingly offered their lives in service to us, so that our daily lives had hope of life’s full gain. Our Lord Jesus Christ did the same and added eternity’s blessings as well. Remember those that paid the ultimate price for the freedom we live and the hopes we hold fast because they fully understood–Freedom isn’t free!

A Bet Gone Sour!

But as for you who forsake the Lord and forget my holy mountain, who spread a table for Fortune and fill bowls of mixed wine for Destiny (Isa 65:11-NIV) (1)

We have been studying the life of Samson. A lot can be gained from observing his life and the choices he made. His birth was miraculous. His mom was barren, and it was during a dark period of time when Israel was under Philistine rule. Their parents named him Samson, which means Sunshine.

He had a calling to deliver his people from the Philistine rule, But God saw that he would only begin to deliver his people. (Judges 13:5) God knows all things and knew that Samson was going to have a hard time dealing with the temptation of the world and the flesh. For more detailed studies of his life, click on the link below. (2) Now, fast-forward to Judges 14.

Judges 14 presents us with Samson and his flirtation with the world. First, he fell in love with a Philistine woman. This woman was not Jewish and had no covenant with God. This made him unequally yoked. Along the way to visit her, Samson encountered a Lion. He gave way to the enemy because of his disobedience, but God had mercy on him.

Samson killed a Lion with his bare hands, which meant that he touched a dead body, violating his Nazarite vow. A few days later, he returned to the scene and found honey around the dead body of the Lion. Again, he violated his Nazarite vow and touched Lion’s dead body in order to get the honey. He hid his sinful acts from his parents.

Betting Woes

Samson failed to see the mercy and grace of God. He took it for granted. At a party with his Philistine buddies, He wanted to make a bet with them. He tells them a riddle and gives them 7 days to solve it.

This reminds me of the movie–The Hustler with one of my favorite actors by the name of Paul Newman. (3) It deals with a fictional story of a pool shark by the name of Eddie Felsen. In the movie, he enters a pool hall and declares that he is going to win ten grand in one night.

He is confident in his skills concerning the game of pool. He meets up with a seasoned Pool player by the name of Minnesota Fats (Jackie Gleason). Eddie bets Minnesota for the grand prize, and it’s game on. Along the way, Eddie starts to win and surpasses his goal of $10,000. His partner begs him to quit, but Eddie gets greedy.

He starts to drink and can’t hold his liquor. This affects his game, and he winds up losing everything except for $300. A sad state of affairs. Concerning Samson, he made a bet with his Philistine buddies. He thought that he would get ahead by using God’s anointing to win some nice suits from the Philistines. Meanwhile, the Philistines went behind Samson’s back and intimidated his wife. They wanted her to pressure Samson into revealing the answer to the riddle.

Deadly chains of events

The Philistines came with the answer, and Samson knew that they used his wife. Outraged, he killed 30 men in cold blood to get his garments for his buddies. The next thing that happened in Samson’s life was that his wife abandoned him. She ran off with his best friend. What lessons can we learn from this?

Don’t take God’s grace and mercy for granted. Stay away from betting your money on the Lottery and Casinos. Betting may not land you in hell, but it can set a chain of events that will bring destruction and chaos to your life and family. Lady luck and Destiny are not your source. Beloved, hear me out. I know some Christians get desperate and play the lottery.

Some have won some great amounts of money, but be careful. God is your source. Forsake the game of chance and learn God’s way of how to be blessed. Above all, respect God’s grace and his anointing.

Weekend Recap

A look at this week’s podcast. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We have a live podcast now. Check us out Monday-Friday at 12 noon for a word. You can find us on our Facebook page—The Christian Corner Community church 56. Hope that you can join us.

All things work together for good (May 8, 2023)

Many have heard this scripture quoted–All things work together for good (Romans 8:28), but do we really understand it? We are continuing our study of the life of Samson. God had brought a champion to deliver Israel from the hand of the Philistines, but he fell short. The Lord, who knows the end from the beginning, said that he (Samson) shall begin to deliver Israel from the hand of the Philistines (Judges 13:5). Listen to this podcast listed below..

Don’t give place to the Devil. (May 9, 2023)

A look at Judges 14:1-9 and a good look at the life of Samson. We see that there were various factors in his walk with the Lord-

  • He played with the world. He was drawn in by a woman of the Philistines. His youthful hormones were at work. (Judges 14:1-2)
  • He was a control freak. He liked having his way and was a spoiled child. (Judges 14:3)
  • He gave place to the devil and got himself in trouble (Judges 14:5)
  • God delivered him even though he was out of the will of God. A picture of God’s great mercy (Judges 14:6)
  • He violated his Nazarite vow by touching a dead body. He killed a Lion with his bare hands. He did not tell his parents what he had done nor repented before the Lord. (Judges 14:5-9)
  • God was orchestrating his Master plan with Samson and the Philistines (Judges 14:4)

The word for today–Do not give place to the Devil. Let’s learn from Samson’s mistakes and avoid further headaches in our lives. Take time to listen to this podcast below.

Respect the anointing (May 13, 2013)

A look at the life of Samson. How grace and mercy were given by God. A lesson concerning guarding against manipulating people for your gain. Samson was used to having his way, and he manipulated his parents. He was used to having his way.

Samson, also, disregarded the grace and mercy of God. Time and time again, God gave him a chance to repent, but he descended further into sin. He was co-mingling with the Philistines, who were enemies of Israel. He was yoked to the world when he married a Philistine woman
.
Brethren, be careful with what God has given you. Guard yourself against using the anointing for your own gain. Samson looked for an opportunity to have a bet with his enemies by telling them a riddle. When you play with the world, there are bound to be consequences. A word to the wise, don’t play with your anointing and talents that God has given you. Take time to listen to the podcast below.
