Weekend recap

Greetings. At least for me, it has been a busy weekend. God has been moving in my life and showing me many things. One thing I need to work on is time management. I can get easily distracted. Being focused will be the item this week that I will be working on. Let’s do a recap of last week’s podcasts. On the link below, we will discuss the wells of Salvation. The other podcast talks about keeping your enemies closer. Sounds familiar? If you watched The Godfather (Part 2), that saying was quoted in the movie. Our Lord Jesus did the same with Judas. Contrary to what happened in The Godfather, which was execution, once the traitor was found, Jesus gave Judas many times to repent before he self-destructed in a sea of bitterness.

Your dreams can save your life!


” Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” (John 16:13)(2)
          
                   (1)   I want you to pay attention to the verse above. God is real, and so is His word. He wants to show you the future. I will share a testimony to show how real God has been in my life.

                  About more than 30 years ago, I was a Taxidriver working full-time and struggling to make a living. One day as I was taking a nap, I had a dream. I dreamed that I was lying on the floor on my back, surrounded by people who hated me. They were debating whether or not to kill me. As I looked at myself in the dream, I was wearing white shoes. 

                   I don’t know about you, but when I have a dream in which I am going to be killed in cold blood, it is a nightmare. Shaken, I thought about this but did not pay much attention to it. I did not have a disciplined prayer life at the time to find out the meaning of the dream. A year later, I wanted to be involved in my church and get some training as an area Pastor. 

                    Soon, my enthusiasm soured. I needed to take some training on Sunday night. Sunday nights were not on my agenda because, as a Taxidriver, that was the night where I made most of my money. Soon, I developed an attitude against the church because they could not adjust it to my schedule. 

                   I did not know it at the time, but I was hardening my heart toward God’s calling for me. Believe it or not, the Lord has a way of calling your attention; on one particular night, he did. I was working well into the night on my job, and I had the urge to pray in the Holy Spirit. 

The man ran away because I stepped down on the accelerator pad and even though I had the cab in park, the noise scared him away. I notified the dispatcher who called for an ambulance to meet me. Upon treating my wound, the doctor told me that my x-ray showed that the bullet was about an inch from a main artery which could have cost me my life.

                  Concerning the dream? It would not be until 30 years later that I would fully understand it. The Lord was trying to warn me of a future event. Had I spent some time praying and seeking God’s face, I could have avoided a possible tragedy. The Lord showed me that the fall symbolized my falling away from him, and the white shoes showed me his righteousness.

                     My being, God’s righteousness in Christ, saved my life. The word says that my sheep hears my voice. The fact that God, in his mercy, prompted me to pray helped spare my life from an early death. Friends, please pay attention to your dreams. It may be a matter of life or death. God bless.

How To Make The Bible Come Alive!

Face it! We’ve all been there. How many times have you fallen asleep during your Bible Study? I have been guilty of this, so you are not alone, but did you know that you can make the Bible come alive thru the Holy Spirit? Before we proceed, Let’s make sure that you are Born-Again. The word of God says that the natural man cannot receive the things of God. ( Cor 2: 14) You must enter the door of Salvation thru Jesus Christ, the Lord. Here is a prayer to get you started —

Sinner’s prayer—Dear Lord, I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sins. Come into my heart and make me a new creation. Your death, burial, and resurrection have now become mine. I accept you as Lord. I believe that God has raised you from the dead, and I am saved! Thank you, Jesus, for saving me. I am born again and will serve you for the rest of my life! Steps To A Successful Study

  • The prayer of Ephesians is a good place to start. Pray it before your Bible study. (https://bit.ly/40bQJHc)
  • Know that reading is not enough, you have to study it carefully. Remember, it is God’s word. Think of it as a text or message from heaven. God wants to speak to you through His word. Having the right tools is very important for good Bible study. A great online tool to have is Biblegateway. I have benefited from the use of this valuable tool. Take some time and listen to the first video I have attached below for instructions on using this website. (1)
  • This is optional but not required. Invest in a Life Application Bible. Personally, I have benefited from this powerful resource. This book has a verse-by-verse commentary with personal life applications. Additional features include historical backgrounds and a profile of major Bible characters.   • Another useful tool is Interlineal Bible. This is a rich resource because sometimes, a word will leap out of the Bible and provide useful meaning. One thing to remember is that the Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the New in Greek. This will provide an accurate translation of the word. The most important contract.

Summary

What is the most important contract that you can have in your life? If you read the terms of most contracts, you will find that it defines them as a covenant. The most important covenant you can have would be with God. In the Old Testament, God made a covenant with men. It would command men to be circumcised eight days after birth. (Lev 12:2-4) When studying the Bible, pay attention to numbers. They have hidden meanings.

Eight in Biblical numerology means new beginnings. Our God is a God of new beginnings. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you enter a new dimension in the spiritual world. The next step is water baptism. Upon completing this process, you lock the contract with God to follow him as your Lord and Savior.

Your enemies are my enemies.

When we enter into covenant with God through baptism, we partner with God. What belongs to him belongs to us and vice versa. One of my favorite movies was the Godfather. I like the part where someone is asking the Godfather for a favor. This person had his daughter assaulted, and he was not getting justice from the law. The Godfather told him that had he come to him earlier, his enemies would have been his enemies, and they would fear him.

Once we enter into a covenant with God through water baptism, we bury the Old Man. We enter into a dimension where our enemies become the Lord’s enemies. I have moments where I have looked back at my water baptism and saw my sinful nature buried along with sickness, disease, and financial lack, among other things.

Prayer—Thank you for speaking to me, Lord. I thank you for my water baptism. I see myself dead with Christ. When he died, I died. When he rose up, I rose up. I have resurrection life. I love righteousness and hate iniquity. My past was buried with him. My sin-loving nature was buried with him. My sickness and disease was buried with him. My poverty and lack was buried with him. I walk in victory today in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Put on Christ.

Fight the good fight.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (I Tim 6:12)

The word for today is to put on Christ. Beloved, we are in a war, and preparation is key. First thing in the morning, make sure you put on the armor of God. Second, in any war, communication is an important factor. It is no different in the Spirit world. We need to hear God’s instructions for the day.

Having a life of prayer will help us hear from God. I am reminded of a sister in Christ who prayed in the Spirit for two years to prepare her for a life and death situation. She overcame that testing because the Lord alerted her ahead of time. Proper communication will help us win in the battle of life.

So, make it a point to put on Christ on this day. Learn how to use the word in prayer. Ephesians 6:16-17 calls us to attention concerning 2 major items of war–

  • A Sword– an aggressive tool of war. In Roman times, the soldier had a short sword. His opponent would carry a huge sword, slowing him down while taking a swing. The soldier would take advantage of this and wind up killing his opponent. We need to learn how to use the word in prayer. As we do this, we are attacking the enemy, circumstances, and other issues in life. Praying the word is a powerful tool against the enemy!
  • A Shield–Protects us from the fiery darts of the enemy. These darts are aimed at our tongues. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Speak life and not death. Guard what you are saying daily.

Prayer–Thank you for your word. As I put on my armor, incline my ear unto your voice. Show me your perfect will. Protect me from dangers seen and unseen. Expose the evil plots of the enemy against my family and me. Your word says my sheep hear my voice. I declare this day that I hear your voice. I am your sheep, and I hear your voice. The prophetic word in communion

The prophetic voice


While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. (Heb 3:15)

Did you know that you can hear the prophetic voice of God in communion? If you have listened to my podcast (listed above), it will describe how God spoke at communion. When we do communion at church, we rush through it and remember the death of Jesus. Sometimes, we must take our time and remember his 14 covenant promises. During that period, we can hear the prophetic voice of the Lord.

Jesus had a word for Peter. (Luke 22:31-34) Let’s see what was prophesied over his life–

1-He addressed him by his former name—Simon. This symbolized a return to the flesh.

2-The devil was asking permission to afflict him

3-He was going to fall away

4- He would return to the Lord and fulfill his ministry.

When we look at Matt 16:18, Jesus gave Simon a name change. He called him Peter. Peter means a piece of a large rock. Some translations describe his name as Rocky. He was the original Rocky. As I remember the Rocky movies, the challenger had a determination to win the Heavyweight title.

Rocky got knocked down many times. Apollo Creed (the Champion) would tell him he was going down. Rocky would get up, shake his head and say–No way. How many times have we stumbled and felt like a failure? We feel that we have passed the point of no return, and we give up?

Can your faith fail?

The word of God describes our faith as precious. Every one of us has faith inside of us as a seed. We need to develop it and guard it. Aside from pride, Jesus went further into Peter’s future. He saw that he was going to turn away from him and go back fishing.

I believe Peter loved Jesus, and when his denial convicted him, he had trouble forgiving himself. The word says that faith worketh by love (Gal 5:6). Sometimes, our worse enemy is ourselves. We don’t forgive ourselves, and that will hinder our faith.

Take inventory of your life if your faith fails you. What are some areas of love that you are not following? Ask God to reveal these areas so your faith will not fail you. Let’s pray the following prayer–

Dear Lord, I realize that there are many struggles in my life. Your word says that a just man falls seven times but gets up again. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I have often failed you, and I ask you to forgive me. Also, I will forgive myself. I will get up. I will fight the good fight of faith and win in life. Thank you for forgiving me and loving me. I will win in life because I am more than a conqueror. I cannot lose. I am destined to win. In Jesus’s name. Amen!

Testimony of a cancer survivor

Impossible Problems

For with God nothing shall be impossible. (Luke 1:37)

Are you facing impossible situations? Be encouraged. God has not forgotten you. I want to share three testimonies that will help encourage you, especially if you need physical healing. I will start with myself.

About 25 years ago, I experienced a lump on the left side of my head. While on a doctor’s visit, He tried to drain it but had some difficulties. Upon coming home, the lump was still draining, and it disappeared–Praise God! As I shared my testimony with others, the lump came back, and through the years, it grew.

One thing about the devil, he tries to come up with a counterattack. Many times, Christians lose their healing over a counterattack. I want to share some war history. During the Korean war, there was a battle to take over various hills, and it suffered many counterattacks. The word tells us to fight the good fight of faith. We are in a war, and counterattacks will come sooner or later.

Many Christians lose their battles over a counterattack. You may be experiencing victory in your finances. Things may look good for a while, but then an unexpected bill comes to the scene and threatens to take all you have. You are experiencing a counterattack, and it can affect all areas of your life.

When all else fails, and you are experiencing a counterattack, pray in the Spirit (tongues). The Word of God tells us that when you pray in tongues, you are praying mysteries. As you pray, ask God to reveal the mystery you need to unravel your miracle. I applied this principle when my lump came back, and I got healed. Enclosed in the picture below, you will see part of my head where the lump disappeared.

Releasing the Spirit of Wisdom and Finances.

Wisdom

Greetings. Our primary focus in this study is to release the spirit of Wisdom and finances through the elements of communion. First, as we read Proverbs 9:1-6, it introduces us to the house of Wisdom. Who is Wisdom? The word says Christ is made unto us Wisdom. (I Cor1:30)

As we study Proverbs 9, Wisdom has built a house. It is his house, but he wants to give us that house. Hebrews 3:6 says that we are his house. Scripture also tells us that we are hidden in Christ. As we take his Identity, what belongs to him also belongs to us- Halelluya!

As we take communion and meditate on Wisdom, we see that it is associated with Identity. The word says not to take it in an unworthy manner. We got to see ourselves as a new creation, not a sinner saved by grace. Seeing yourself as a sinner will void the promises of God during the Lord’s Supper. Receiving Wisdom will provide answers to life’s most challenging problems and help you to make the right decisions in your life.

Here is a prayer to pray for Wisdom during communion—I have come into the house of Wisdom. I am his house, and you are hidden in me. I take the bread and wine now and declare your blessing of Wisdom. I also receive understanding. It is mine, and I thank you for providing me in advance with the answers to any problems I may face. I make the right decisions every time because I have the mind of Christ. In Jesus’s name. Amen.

Finances

My heart aches for the body when they find themselves in a Financial challenge. Communion has the power to release your finances. How many times have you heard the term bread compared to money? It is not a new phrase because it is listed in the word. You have a winning combination when you use the bread elements with the wine. The word says that we overcome by the blood of the lamb. (Rev 12:11)

Pleading the blood and confessing his promises during communion will release the power to get you out of lack and debt. We need to make some things clear in this matter. You have to be a Tither and giver. It is a must. Here is a prayer for you to say when you celebrate this event.

Father, thank you for your promises. Your promises are yea and amen. I am a giver, and I claim tither’s rights. Open heaven is set upon me to receive your financial provision. I declare all my bills paid in full. Uncommon favor in business deals. I plead the blood over my checkbook and investments. I am more than a conqueror, and I consider this matter resolved. I claim the victory in Jesus’s name. Amen.

My journey to forgive

Forgiveness

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. (Mark 11:25)

Forgiveness can be a controversial subject. Many have differing opinions, with some saying—“You don’t know what they did to me!” Others would tell me that they can forgive but not forget, but what does the word say?

I believe that when we teach any subject, we need to lead by example. I, personally, got tested when I got shot 34 years ago. I had opportunities to get even, but God helped me to overcome those temptations. It was not an easy decision, but my mind was made up. I had decided to forgive the person who shot me by his grace. 

For a season, I was traumatized because of this incident. The taxi cab company offered me a part-time job as a bookkeeper. I was happy to have a job, but I was not making enough. At this sad state of affairs, I decided to return to driving a cab and facing my fears. It was not easy, but little by little, I got used to returning to my old job.

After a while, a door opened for me to work for Verizon, making a lot more money. God is good! Facing my fears helped me build up my confidence and be an example to others. You can overcome your fears, but you have to learn to walk in love.

The word says that Perfect love casteth out fear. Can we be perfect in love? No, but we can strive for excellence in that area. The Perfect love that scripture talks about is God. God is love. (I John 4:8) He is the perfect love that lives inside us. When we know our identity in Christ and what belongs to us, he will help us overcome our fears.

Emotional hurts

 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Isaiah 61:1)

I realize that emotional hurts can hinder the process of unforgiveness. Joseph went thru a series of traumatic events. Sold as a slave by his brothers, he wound up in Egypt. Even though he prospered, he still had the hurts deep in his heart. We have heard the saying —Time heals wounds. That is not true; it only buries it deeper into the heart.

When the time came for Joseph to face his brothers, he gave them a hard time. After many long years, it was time to settle the score. Scripture shows us that he had a high position in Egypt. He recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him.

He gave his brothers a hard time, giving them a taste of their own medicine, but God had a plan. Joseph fell under conviction and repented. Hurts can make us do strange things. The good news is that Joseph allowed the healing process to do its job. He revealed himself to his brothers and forgave them.

The word brokenhearted appears two times in the word. When you see a pattern that repeats itself, please pay attention to it. Isaiah 61:1 mentions it as well as Luke 4:18. Who heals the brokenhearted? Jesus! He can heal you and help you to forgive. If you have a broken heart, decide to receive your healing today. Let’s pray–

Father, Examine my heart. Show me areas of unforgiveness and hurts. Heal my broken heart. Heal my mental hurts. Heal my emotions as well as my soul. Thank you for your healing inside of me. I forgive and release those who have caused hurts in my life. In Jesus’s name..amen!
